Eindhoven is home to 170 nationalities, and 170 food cultures. Kazerne Design Lab invites you to share the ingredients you miss here. Together we build a community and a new food system.

Eindhoven is home to 170 nationalities, and each one brings its own food culture. Yet most of that richness stays invisible. The vegetables, roots, grains and herbs from our favourite family recipes are hard, or even impossible, to find here. They travel the world through long, often invisible chains, because the Dutch agricultural system leaves little room for this diversity.
Kazerne Design Lab invites you to share the ingredients you miss. We do not want to take anything over, we want to build something together: a community that shares, and from there a more biodiverse and inclusive food system. During Dutch Design Week, from 17 to 25 October 2026, we bring your stories together in an interactive exhibition at Kazerne. From there we'll explore how more of the foodpeople love could grow here too.
Take part
It takes about two minutes.Take a photo of your lunchbox or a favourite dish, tell us which ingredients you miss, and share it through the form. You decide whether we may mention your name with your dish.
Submit before 7 September to enter the draw for one of 10 tickets for two persons to the festive opening on 17 October at Kazerne.
What happens with your entry
After Dutch Design Week we choose a series of missing ingredients together and look for the seeds. That way they become easier to find in the region, for you and your community. Your lunchbox becomes a starting point for a food system we build together.

Behind every design lies a chain of choices, materials and energy. The same is true for our food. Radical Food Chains is part of Radical Chains, a multi-year project by Kazerne Foundation in which cross-sector teams work towards a more nature-inclusive society. What seems self-evident turns out to be inseparably connected to everyone and everything.
In the exhibition, the people and the stories behind the dishes take centre stage, not just the ingredients.
In collaboration with Designers, the Province of Noord-Brabant, Wageningen University and regional growers.
