During Dutch Design Week, Lidewij Edelkoort & Philip Fimmano present their new book Inner Child: Playing with Design: an uplifting exploration of play, imagination and making, bringing together more than 100 established and emerging creatives. The book announces a new period in design that is analogue-centred and often crafted by hand; a much-needed antidote to the digital technologies currently challenging human senses and agency.
For this special presentation, Lidewij & Philip are joined by renowned Eindhoven-based designers Kiki van Eijk and Joost van Bleiswijk and their sons Ko and Puk. The family features in the book’s chapter We Are Family, after Ko and Puk helped shape the scenography of the Inner Child exhibition with ideas ranging from cardboard garlands and Kapla-inspired pedestals to a teddy-bear Cuddletopia and a papier-mâché planetarium.
Together, they explore what happens when we make room for curiosity, play and the freedom to imagine without limits.
