In 2023, Floris Schoonderbeek developed Circlefarming, a regenerative farming method where round fields are cultivated using a blend of human effort, existing tools, and new technologies. By combining these three components, the designer makes farming desirable again. This approach enables embedded farming, deeply rooted in both the local landscape and its communities.

One way in which Circlefarming explores the possibilities and beauty of agriculture is through a hand-tufted carpet, designed and created together with Mila van Lierop: Nature by Farming envisions a new landscape where farming works in harmony with nature. The circular fields are friendly to people, soil, and wildlife alike and the spaces between the circles become oases of biodiversity and thriving ecosystems.
