Form Follows Material: When Circularity and Local Resources Shape Design.

Join us for an inspiring morning talk, organized by Hydro, featuring:

Sabine Marcelis – Material-focused approach to product, installation, and spatial design

Stefan Diez – Considers circular design to be a key principle of his design philosophy

After displaying "R100” in Milan and Copenhagen, during Dutch Design Week, Hydro brings the exhibition home to its origin. Hydro is a global leader in aluminum. The project started with the harvesting of post-consumer aluminium from decommissioned green-houses and light poles in the Eindhoven area. Turn-ing locally sourced aluminum scrap into design objects showcases urban mining in practice, and the exhibition features new works from designers Sabine Marcelis, Keiji Takeuchi, Cecilie Manz, Daniel Rybakken and Stefan Diez. Each design object is brought to life within a self-imposed limit of a 100-km production radius in the Benelux region.
