We are very good at building tools that see more. Maps, dashboards, AI agents that hold the entire system at once: displaced costs, ecological consequences, hidden dependencies. The machine has never had a better view. And yet the most consequential changes most organizations make never come from a map. They come from a room in which people finally say what everyone has known and nobody has named.
Join Charlotte Grün and Dr. Gonzalo Raineri to explore the question underneath both their practices: not who has the most data, but who has the most useful overview. And what it takes to move from seeing to acting. How do we accelerate transformation?
Charlotte Grün (Studio-OOK) is a social designer who created De Transparante Ruimte: a physical and methodological environment where organizations surface the knowledge, they already hold but cannot yet see. Tensions, ambitions, undercurrents: everything that lives in people but never makes it into a strategy.
Dr. Gonzalo Raineri (Symbiotic Design Academy) traces the hidden costs of design decisions at systemic scale, and now uses AI agents to hold the entire system simultaneously. What AI can calculate; it can make visible. And what is visible, can be changed.
One starts with the room. The other starts with the system. Both are asking the same question from opposite ends: what do we need to see, to know what to move?
We have better maps than ever. We have better methods for surfacing what people know. And transformation is still slow. So, what is actually in the way?"
The real question is not which overview is bigger. It is which one moves the elephant in the room.

Charlotte Grün is a social designer and creative strategist working at the intersection of research, design and social innovation. Through Studio-OOK, she combines strategy, imagination and visual form to make the knowledge, tensions and ambitions inside organizations visible and shareable. Her instrument is De Transparante Ruimte: a physical and methodological environment that combines the Obeya method (developed in the Toyota Production System to create shared visual overview of goals and progress) with a design approach rooted in empathy, imagination and creative inquiry. It starts from the conviction that the knowledge and ideas for change are already present in every organization: distributed across people, teams, processes and daily experience. Everyone sees a part. Nobody has the whole story. Her role is not to bring the answer. It is to design the space in which the organization can see its own.
She graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven with book projects in which the book as carrier of stories and experience was central. She co-initiated BOEKenDELEN with Lidewij Edelkoort, a travelling exhibition of personal book collections of influential cultural figures shown at the Van Abbemuseum, Koninklijke Bibliotheek, CODA Museum and the National Archive in Naples. For the Dutch Design Foundation, she designed exhibitions within the World Design Embassies, translating societal themes into spatial experiences in collaboration with the VNG, NS, Rijkswaterstaat and several ministries. She has worked with Utrecht University (AI and literacy, ELSA Lab) and Maastricht University on projects connecting design, research and social themes.
Charlotte is the regular moderator of EHV Innovation Café. This evening, she steps to the other side of the conversation.

Dr. Gonzalo Raineri is a designer, architect and researcher based in Eindhoven. Over a career spanning nearly three decades and multiple continents – from Santiago to Minneapolis, Amsterdam, Dublin, Madrid and the Netherlands – he has built a practice on a single conviction: design is never neutral.
He holds a PhD in Design from the Universidad de Palermo in Buenos Aires, a Master in Environmental Studies and Bioclimatic Architecture, and an architecture degree from UNIACC University in Santiago.
He is a member of the World Design Organization and the founder of the Symbiotic Design Academy, through which he trains designers and architects to work toward a zero-carbon future through what he calls "dangerous optimism": a deliberate, evidence-based belief in the possibility of systemic change.
The framework, presented in his book Symbiotic Design Framework: Rethinking Design from Within, moves design from a discipline complicit in unsustainable systems toward a self-aware, ethical practice rooted in systems thinking. Now he is extending it with AI agents: tools that can hold an entire design system in view simultaneously, tracing the displaced costs and hidden impacts that no single designer can carry alone.
